Our Thoughts and Prayers are with the Family and Friends of Colin Gagnon, ED ID #16551, EOW 11.08.2025
The Thin Gold Line Foundation Est. March 2019
Our Primary Mission is to Raise Awareness of Mental Health in the 9-1-1 Call Taker and Emergency Dispatcher Community... including employees, supervisors, employers, and the community at large.
We will provide those working in emergency communications with resources - through our Resource Basket Program and here on the website, via links to organizations that may directly assist them, websites, phone numbers and other points of contact.
We will support dispatchers/families in times of crisis/emergency through our Dispatcher Assistance Program. When possible, we will also provide emergency dispatchers assistance with accessing education on coping skills, mental health, and physical & nutritional health, through financial aid. As well as assistance during medical treatments for cancer, accidents, etc.
We will attempt to identify ED's who have passed away in career related deaths (MVA to/from work, Medical on the job and Suicide) - and provide memorial plaques to PSAP's and Families.
Lastly, we will work together to advocate for change at local, regional and national levels... to have 9-1-1 Call Takers and Emergency Dispatchers Recognized as First Responders... So that they may receive the legal and rightful benefits as those afforded to their fellow First Responders.
2024 Totals: 32 PSAP's with over 1,130 ED's received our Resource Baskets! 6 ED's and/or their Families received our Dispatcher Assistance! 4 ED PSAP's & Families received an EOW Memorial Plaque.
